Idea Mentoring (2004)

This project was started with support from the Jyväskylä Science Park and it assumed generating research ideas. This project facilitates the transition of research ideas to new business opportunities, with the objective of adding value to the mobile devices experience, by delivering to the end-user better functionality and an extended set of applications and services.

The Idea Mentoring project began in March 2004 and involved the cooperative efforts of two research groups: the Industrial Ontologies Group and the Hyperstructure research group (Benja Fallenstein and Matti Katila). The process of "idea mentoring" - generation of ideas and their gradual refining - leverages the researchers' unique experience, particularly in the area of Semantic Web technology and hyperstructure-based interfaces.
