ICT SHOK: Cross SHOK Activities

This document presents a high-level multidisciplinary research vision of the Industrial Ontologies Group (IOG) towards the future global information society. In the text incentives driving the evolution of the information society are described. All necessary concepts are sketched and the UbiVERSE vision is described at medium level of detail. The challenges addressed and the proposed methodologies are also discussed.

The UbiVERSE vision is created with incentive to bring an innovative and universal roadmap to tackle the majority of the information technology challenges identified throughout major ICT-SHOK research programs “Future Internet”, “Flexible Services”, “Devices and Interoperability Ecosystems” and “Cooperative Traffic ICT”. This vision is intended to bring the four ICT-SHOK Strategic Research Agendas (SRAs) together under the umbrella of a common future information society roadmap and to express particular IOG viewpoint on possible methodology and implementation of this concept. This document is proposed as a draft of the framework program of JYU (IOG) participation in the ICT-SHOK research program and can be used in future for preparation of ICT-SHOK project proposals either to specific SRAs or as cross-program horizontal actions.
